I least expected on one of the days while having a great workshop with my long time friend of more than 20 years, came 2 girls knocking on my door. So they interviewed me and that was how it all started....Personally I enjoyed watching how the whole crew worked together. Wow, their camera was huge, the mike was so sensitive as it could even pick up phone vibrations. (Hahaha...as someone was calling Chen Liping while filming..) I was quite stunned by their enormous equipments and how efficient they organised their filming. All in all, it was a great experience to have Mediacorp in my workshop.

Russian Doll Brooch

For a change I decided to try something different. And instead of sewing all the time its needle felting, working on soft and colorful wool was quite a fun experience! Unbelievable, for days I was so addicted to it making all kinds of little animals such as rabbit, penguin and bear etc. Finally, I thought Periwinkle-Su must at least has one version of a handmade Russian Doll and here it is. I went a little crazy by matching it with different hair colors of black, red and blonde.

Hi everyone! Here's my first Russian doll sewn with felt material. I always like the bright colors of felt somehow it brings out a smile from me. So I decided to sew something out of it... and guess what, I made it to be my nail clipper holder. This russian doll can also be used as a key holder too. I've also put in a handphone strap so it can easily be hung onto a zip of a bag, a handphone or simply for decoration.

Hello everyone,
Yesterday was Saturday, my usual routine was spending my afternoon shopping for fabrics and materials. But yesterday felt more like a little adventure. I found myself walking into a wholesaler's shop all about zips. It was almost like a short tuition on the different types of zips, sliders, grooves, metallic or plastic and of course the choice of multiple colors. Wow...for the first time I was so bewildered about my discovery of the making of zips. What makes me even more happy is that I get to customize my own zips for Periwinkle-Su! How wonderful!

Short Story of Pretty Pam

Pretty Pam was created about a year ago some time in August 2008 just at the time my baby niece,Pamelyn was born. Seeing how tiny she was as just a newborn infant I then created Pretty Pam. It was also a time when I was just crazy about keeping my every little things I got into small little pouches. A year has passed, this weekend we'll be celebrating her first birthday. And its such a privilege to be requested for a diaper bag to be made as her birthday gift! I made it exactly accordingly to her mum's given measurement. I'm so happy and am relieved that its done! Here's how it looks like....

The day has come, my first craft fair! It came as a surprised email one day, an invitation to sell publicly, something I never thought I would do it one day. The past four weeks of preparation were most enjoyable to me. I learned a lot and adopted different methods of crafting my bags and pouches. This is a tissue case I just created over the weekend. Hmm...its my very first time I stitched something like this: a little house with a garden. Inside, there are two compartments to keep the tissue packets. There will be other colors to choose from and different drawings I'd sew on it. So lookout for more when I add it on in my shop!

Come and Shop at MAAD: Market of Artists and Designers.Venue: Red Dot Museum on every first weekend of the month Sat & Sun 11am-7pm http://maad.sg This is a place where local artists, product designers and crafters would display their handmade works. It is not the usual second-hand flea market or factory made stuff rather you get to discover interesting and creative items. You may even personalised the item too! Once I bought a tag with words inscribed on it. It says: "Friends Grow Separately Without Growing Apart.." I thought that was very meaningful and later on I wrote a little personal message behind it too....
